Stepping Out from Behind the Scenes: My Summer Reading Plans Revealed
Every so often, I step out from behind the mixing board to share insights into the creative process of producing our program. But this week, I’m doing something a bit different. As part of our annual Summer Reading special, I’m excited to pull back the curtain and let you in on my own reading plans for the season.
Summer has always felt like a time to slow down, reflect, and recharge—qualities that align perfectly with the joy of getting lost in a good book. For me, this summer is no exception. While I usually focus on the technical and creative aspects of bringing stories to life, I’m looking forward to diving into a variety of reads that promise to inspire, challenge, and uplift.
My reading list is a mix of old favorites and new discoveries—books that I’ve been meaning to revisit or explore for the first time. Some are thought-provoking works that will stretch my perspective, while others are lighter, feel-good stories meant to remind me of the beauty of slowing down. What ties them all together is a shared goal: to deepen my understanding of the world, myself, and the stories that connect us all.
Sharing my reading plans feels a bit vulnerable, but it’s also exhilarating. It’s a reminder that growth and inspiration are lifelong pursuits, and there’s no better way to nurture them than by immersing yourself in words that resonate. Whether you’re a fellow book lover or someone looking for a new perspective, I hope this glimpse into my summer reading list sparks something for you. After all, stories have a way of bringing us together—and maybe even inspiring us to step out from behind our own “mixing boards” and share a little more of ourselves with the world.
So, grab a cup of coffee, find a shady spot, and let’s dive into the stories that will shape our summer. What’s on your reading list? I’d love to hear.
