Bevel Secures $10M Series A Funding

In today’s digital age, tracking health and wellness has never been easier—or more overwhelming. With smartwatches, fitness apps, and nutrition trackers generating endless data, many people struggle to make sense of the scattered pieces of information. While there’s no shortage of tools to monitor steps, sleep, or calories, few platforms offer a holistic view of how these metrics connect. That’s where Bevel, a New York-based health tech startup, is stepping in with a bold vision: to unify health data and turn it into actionable insights.

With a fresh $10 million Series A investment from General Catalyst, Bevel is scaling its AI-powered health companion, a platform designed to help users understand their well-being in a more integrated, continuous way. The company has seen remarkable growth in just two years, with its user base growing eightfold and reaching over 100,000 daily active users. What’s more, its retention rates are enviable: 80% of users stick around after 90 days, a rarity in the fitness and health app space where users often lose interest after short-term goals.

So, what sets Bevel apart from the likes of Whoop, Oura, or Eight Sleep? For starters, Bevel doesn’t require users to buy expensive hardware. Instead, it works seamlessly with the wearables and devices people already own, like Apple Watch or Dexcom glucose monitors. By focusing on software, Bevel makes proactive health management more accessible and affordable. At just $6 a month or $50 annually, it’s a fraction of the cost of many alternative solutions.

The app’s strength lies in its ability to pull data from multiple sources—sleep, fitness, nutrition, and more—and analyze it through its proprietary AI engine, Bevel Intelligence. This system learns from users’ habits over time, adapting its recommendations to help them make small, incremental changes that add up to meaningful results. The idea is to treat health as a continuous journey, not a quick fix.

For Bevel’s co-founder and CEO, Grey Nguyen, this mission is deeply personal. Before starting the company, he found himself dealing with chronic back pain that went undiagnosed despite regular doctor visits and obsessive tracking with wearables. His doctors couldn’t pinpoint the cause, but when he began piecing together his sleep, nutrition, and movement data, he realized that small, compounding factors—like long periods of sitting, a suboptimal mattress, and a diet high in sodium—were contributing to his issues. This experience became the catalyst for Bevel.

Similarly, co-founder and CTO Ben Yang, who previously worked on machine learning at Opendoor, and Aditya Agarwal, a Dropbox veteran and South Park Commons partner, joined forces with Nguyen after their own health struggles. Together, they built Bevel to empower people to take control of their health by making their data work for them, rather than against them.

Bevel’s approach resonates with users and investors alike. General Catalyst’s managing director, Neeraj Arora, praised the company’s ability to “democratize health through intelligence and design,” noting that the app has become a daily staple for its users, not just another forgotten download.

Looking ahead, Bevel plans to expand its team and explore new partnerships to further its mission of making proactive health accessible to all. Without the burden of hardware development, the company can focus on what it does best: turning data into insights that help people live healthier, more informed lives.

In a world where health data is abundant but understanding is scarce, Bevel is proving that the missing piece in the proactive health movement isn’t more gadgets—it’s smarter, more connected software that helps people see the big picture. With Bevel, the future of health isn’t just about tracking; it’s about understanding, adapting, and thriving.
