Tech for a Greener Future: Our Hackathon Journey
Imagine using code to shrink your carbon footprint – that’s exactly what our team at the Bit N Build International Hackathon set out to do. We built “Clean and Green,” a platform designed to help consumers understand the environmental impact of their purchases, fostering a more sustainable lifestyle.
The 36-hour online hackathon was a whirlwind of coding, collaboration, and sheer determination. Despite the distance between us, we leveraged tools like Redux, React, Express, and Cloudinary to create a robust system capable of analyzing product lifecycles and calculating their carbon footprint. It wasn’t easy – navigating remote collaboration and time zone differences presented real challenges, forcing us to think creatively and adapt quickly. These hurdles, surprisingly, fueled even more innovation.
“Clean and Green” isn’t just a project; it’s a testament to the power of technology to address global issues. We focused on creating an intuitive interface, allowing users to easily assess the environmental impact of their choices and make more informed decisions. The experience reinforced the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and a shared vision – a vision of a future where technology actively contributes to a healthier planet.
